IlPod at XNL Musica: the Piacenza Podcast Academy records with us
A five-month course, an editorial team of young women and men, and a podcast that will tell the story of the Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo. The voices passed through our studios.
IlPod is the national award for Italian podcasts: every year it brings to Piacenza the people who write podcasts, produce them and listen to them. In 2026 it did one thing more: a school. The Piacenza Podcast Academy, born from a dialogue with the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano as an extension of Bottega XNL, spent five months teaching a group of young people to write, record, interview and build a story.
The Academy worked at XNL Musica, the Nicolini Conservatory’s spaces inside XNL, which we look after. We hosted them to record and produce the materials for the course, in the rooms and with the microphones where music is usually recorded.
From a course to an editorial team
On the last day the group stopped being a class and became an editorial team: that of “2033”, the podcast that will cover the days of the Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo from the inside, from 24 to 27 September, with interviews, reportage and audio content.
On 23 September, during the IlPod evening in Piazza Cavalli, the editorial team went on stage.
Why we like it
A recording studio inside a conservatory usually hears music. Hearing in it voices that are learning to ask questions, and to listen to the answers, is a good use of the same rooms and the same microphones.
IlPod publicly thanked the Nicolini Conservatory, XNL Musica and XNL. We thank them: we will be back to listen to “2033”.
