GR STUDIO S.R.L. · Piacenza, Italy

The technology
behind culture.

We write software. We make stages sound. We rent machines. We repair and support. We produce culture.

A technology studio with a single team: the people who write your management system are the same who rig your stage and bring you the printer.

The Four Turandot

Puccini’s Turandot in four theatres, two performances per city with a double cast, and a different ending in each city. The site opens on the thread of Act III: pull it and choose how the opera ends.

UGA Research Partnership

Our research partnership with the University of Georgia, on the software: since 2023 the halls of the Dancz Center rebuilt in virtual reality, then the performers’ faces and movement. It is the method The Four Turandot took to the theatre. Within the partnership Gianmarco holds the title of International Collaborator at UGA.

SPATIA

The proposal for a European platform for emerging artists in spatial sound: music and sound art made for domes and rings of loudspeakers, wave field synthesis and headphones. We are bringing together venues, festivals and studios that want to present these artists and make their works travel. It grows out of The Four Turandot.

dAS Festival 2026: technical direction and Le Sacre du Printemps with sixty-two loudspeakers

Four days of dance, music and the spoken word in a dozen venues across Piacenza. We handled the technical direction, and were inside the evening that put the audience in the orchestra’s place: Xavier Le Roy’s Le Sacre du Printemps.

The studio

676 square metres, our development hub.

Offices on two floors, the workshop where our audio gear is prepared and refurbished before every show, the studio where we write our software. In Pontenure, ten minutes from Piacenza: the hub every GR Studio project starts from.

How we work

A

A team, not a list of suppliers

Software, audio, machines: the people are the same and they talk to each other. For you it is one phone call, and nobody blaming somebody else.

B

First we understand, then we propose

Every job starts from how you work: a registry, a stage, an office. The quote comes after the questions, not before.

C

What we promise, we measure

Counters read every quarter, inventories piece by piece, visible progress. If a number does not add up, we are the first to say so.
