MusicMediale 2025: the Nicolini’s façade in projection mapping
On 6 July 2025, for the finale of the MusicMediale festival, the façade of the Nicolini Conservatory came alive with a projection mapping curated by Ali Hosseini, Gianmarco Romiti and Riccardo Dapelo: abstract, geometric images fused with an electronic soundtrack.
MusicMediale is the Nicolini Conservatory’s festival of contemporary music, sound experimentation and digital languages. The 2025 edition opened on 21 June at the Teatro Municipale with a chamber opera and ended on the evening of Sunday 6 July, in the Conservatory’s cloister.
The finale came in two parts. First a piece for double quintet and percussion, “Fanfare for the Horses Square”, conducted by Sandro Satanassi. Then the Conservatory’s façade came alive: a projection mapping curated by Ali Hosseini, Gianmarco Romiti and Riccardo Dapelo, with abstract, geometric images in constant change, fused with an experimental electronic soundtrack.
“A coherent dialogue between sound and vision.”
Libertà, July 2025
The following year the festival grew: MusicMediale 2026 was two weeks of galleries and theatres, from Piacenza to Milan, with the technical production entirely ours.
