Cardyn: life and work in one app, with the data staying with whoever writes it

The management app we built ourselves: seven modules, from the personal one, free forever, to work; trades such as restaurant, garage, building site and health practice; end-to-end encrypted sync; AI agents that propose and never decide. Today it is at version 2.67.

Three Cardyn screens on a midnight-blue background: the tagline “Your life and your work. In one app.”, a dashboard with net worth, cash and revenue, and the seven coloured modules.

Cardyn is the management app for life and for work that we write ourselves, from the first line. Its tagline says it all: “Your life and your work. In one app.” Sport, films, books, contracts, clients, accounts, taxes: instead of seven apps that don’t talk to each other, a single one, with one calendar where every deadline ends up.

It installs like an app from the browser, on phones and computers, without going through the stores, and it works offline too.

The data stays on the device

Cardyn has a single rule, and it is not up for discussion: the data belongs to whoever writes it. Cardyn is local-first: everything lives on the device, not on a server of ours.

  • Sync is encrypted end to end. Since June 2026 the data travels from one device to another already encrypted: in between there is a server that carries it and cannot read it. Neither can we.
  • Shared spaces work the same way: a family or a team share calendars and tasks, and nobody else gets in.
  • The bank connects read-only, through Enable Banking, a licensed provider. Username, password and codes are typed only on the bank’s own site: Cardyn receives a consent, with an expiry date, to read balance and transactions, and no way at all to move money.

Seven modules: pay for what you use

  • Life, free forever: sport, films and series, books and podcasts, nutrition with the food scanner, travel, health and medicines, pets, home, car, documents, subscriptions, family.
  • Hobby: gardening, wine cellar, collecting, DIY and model making, aquarium, games.
  • Business: contracts and quotes in PDF, clients, projects, employees with payslips read automatically, stock.
  • Creative: videographers, photographers, musicians, with a portal where the client sees how the work is going.
  • Freelance: bookings, client records, price list and takings, with the right fields for each profession.
  • Commerce: food cost and margins, workshop orders, shipments.
  • Finance: accounts, investments, taxes and deadlines, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, the path to financial independence.

With the launch annual plan, two modules cost €0.45 a month and all seven €7.45. Life stays free.

The trades

Since summer 2026 Cardyn also has trade verticals: the restaurant, with the cost of every dish, the 14 EU allergens and HACCP logs; the salon, the gym, the garage, short-term rentals; the building site, with bills of quantities and price lists; the psychologist’s practice; the health practice, for physiotherapists, nutritionists, speech therapists, osteopaths and more; the school and courses. The profession is chosen at the start, and Cardyn shows the sections it needs.

A summer of new features

Between version 2.16, on 28 June, and 2.67, on 15 September, more than fifty versions came out. The most important:

  • Faster. To open the app the browser now downloads 86% less: from 3.4 MB to 484 KB. The 57 sections load only when they are needed.
  • Spotlight-style search, across about 25 kinds of data, from a single key.
  • Meeting: record from the microphone, get a live transcript and a summary with key points, decisions and to-dos, which become tasks with one click.
  • Cash-flow forecasts: income and expenses for the months ahead, taken from invoices, contracts, quotes, rents, taxes and salaries, with a warning for the month the cash would go below zero.
  • AI agents: the morning briefing, emails that turn into task proposals, and “Talk to Cardyn”, to ask for an appointment out loud. The agents propose: nothing gets into Cardyn without a tap from the person using it.
  • Tasks can be seen in several ways: board, agenda, Eisenhower matrix, lanes per project, a map of the links.
  • Budgets: spending limits that fill up with the account’s real transactions, and a mid-month warning if you are about to overspend.

Where we are

Cardyn is at version 2.67, from 15 September 2026, and we use it every day. Before the public launch, the last steps remain: the domain and payments.
